Learn about aging skin diet and
exercise to improve your health as well as the condition of your skin. Younger
looking skin is a result of more than dabbing cream on your
face. It also depends upon getting exercise, fresh air and
eating a healthy diet.
If you have been grossly overweight for many years you will have sagging skin all over your body and especially on your neck and face when you mature in age. Face and Neck exercises will tighten those muscles, but many times the body fat will have to be surgically removed.
Dieting vs Healthy Eating
I believe that most
people have difficulty remaining on a diet for long. This is
why the diet industry is so huge--people fail on one diet after
another, but they never seem to work.
Unless one has
serious medical problems, I believe that good eating habits and
exercise are the only ways to really accomplish permanent
change. This is why programs such as weight watchers is so
successful -- it teaches eating healthy and properly over starving
oneself to be thin overnight.
When one has a diet
mentality they always feel deprived. This is not the best way
to regard food and eating. Neither should food be used to
feed emotional problems. Food is to feed our bodies for good
health, energy, and long life. And IT IS TO BE ENJOYED!
Rather than trying one diet after another, it's important you find a way to eat in a way that meets the following criteria:
- It's flows within
the natural way of eating (no weird dieting).
- It satisfies hunger
- it provides the
necessary amount of nutrients, vitamins and minerals.
- It gives you a normal enjoyment (you don't eat to be happy)
That's all we really need besides taking action as follows:
- If
you are from 30 pounds or more over your healthy weight, eat smaller
portions of food by using a smaller plate. Stop eating when
your plate is full.
- Drink water as a filler.
- Keep busy to keep you thinking about food all day.
- Keep healthy snack close by when around people who tempt you with foods that aren't good for you.
- Take care of your emotional problems if you believe you are eating to feel better about a sad issue in your life.
- When
you mess up
and eat too much or the wrong foods one day, don't give up
on your
healthy eating. Get back on track the next day and look at
your "binge" as a fun day that you will allow yourself to have every
now and then -- even spontaneously. This is normal.
- Prepare foods you
love for work. It's much healthier and you'll be more
energetic and quick thinking. Going out to eat everyday isn't
good for anyone.
- Don't think that
because you may be skinny that you don't need to eat healthy.
Remember that your health begins from the inside out. So how
you look doesn't gauge how healthy you are.
- Don't look to foods
you hate to lose weight. Find fruits and vegetables and
other
healthy foods that you love for snacks, small meals,etc.
- Prepare your foods for good health. Don't fry, but bake instead.
There are other suggestions, but these will help you get the picture of eating healthy rather than starving yourself to be skinny and thinking "diet." You need to make yourself feel happy about life, not deprived. Allow yourself to be at your best body weight for good health and your optimum performance in life.
Everyone needs exercise from children to the elderly. The only difference is the intensity in which we work-out.
